Civic 50 Best Practices Report

Points of Light is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteer service. Its mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world.

Challenge

The client wanted to raise awareness among the business community about The Civic 50, an initiative to rank the 50 most-community-minded companies in the country. It also wanted to deepen understanding among businesses about what good corporate citizenship looks like.

Solution

I edited and contributed to this report, which presented highlights and insights from the best corporate community engagement programs in the country. To make the report engaging, I featured examples of specific companies’ unique practices throughout the report. I also included a section with quotes, photos, and short case studies of best practices from industry sector leaders.

The case studies illustrated what strategic corporate citizenship looks like, offering useful examples for other companies. They also gave winners an incentive to share the report widely with their stakeholders.
