The Billion + Change Promo Video

Points of Light is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteer service. Its mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world.

Challenge

The organization was looking for a promotional video for a national B2B campaign with a goal to inspire companies to donate $2 billion in pro bono services to communities. This video needed to raise awareness for the campaign among the business community, but also have a fun and inspirational tone.

Solution

We framed this piece with an uplifting short story to make it engaging and accessible. By establishing the B2B campaign as a spark catalyzing a nation-wide movement of change-makers within the business community, we achieved an inspirational feel. To adopt a fun tone, we chose to make this an animated motion graphic video. We also included the brand names of many pledge companies to create social proof, and included main funders and government partners to add legitimacy. At 3:04, it was easy to play at campaign events and email to potential pledge companies.

This video played a key role in raising awareness for the campaign, which met and exceeded its goal of inspiring 500+ companies to donate more than $2B worth of pro bono to communities.
