Points of Light is a global, nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteer service. Its mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to take action that changes the world.
Challenge
The client wanted to inform and engage companies that had joined its A Billion + Change campaign to donate pro bono services to communities. It wanted to keep its pledge companies actively participating in events, and it wanted to encourage them to spread the word to peer companies about the campaign.
Solution
I wrote a weekly e-newsletter for the A Billion + Change campaign, which included campaign news, case studies, upcoming events, and action items for pledge companies. It included resources, stories, and opportunities for companies to learn, connect, and spread the word.
By providing compelling information and resources to our target audience, we succeeded in keeping them engaged and turned them into brand ambassadors.
Engaging and empowering pledge companies to advocate for us helped us meet our goal of securing more than 500 pledges of pro bono service from the business community.
